Scott has 25 years experience in the mining industry, previously working for BHP Billiton at Vice President level in South Africa and Australia. He also worked at Vice President level for P&O - one of the world’s largest port infrastructure and stevedoring companies.

Chris Brown
Chief Financial OFFICER

Chris Brown has over 20 years experience in senior finance roles for public companies in Australia and New Zealand, including Chief Financial Officer/Company Secretary for Sydney Gas Ltd and General Manager, Accounting for AGL. Chris is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Auckland University and a Diploma in Corporate Management.

Adama Barry
Chief general Manager, Burkina Faso

Adama is a Geologist with over 20 years experience in exploration and mining projects. He has been involved with the Perkoa zinc mine for over 10 years. Prior to working for Blackthorn, Adama was employed with BHP Billiton. Adama holds Graduate and Post Graduate degrees in Geology.

Derek Pang
Senior Geologist

Derek has over 15 years experience in the exploration and mining industry throughout Australia. Previous experience includes the geological assessment of coal deposits, resource analyst at Huntley’s Investment, exploration/mine geologist at the Merlin and Argyle Diamond mines, and roles with CRA Exploration and Plutonic Gold Mine.

Hein Frey
PROJECT MANAGER, Perkoa zinc PROJECT

Hein is qualified mining engineer with over 15 years experience in mining and rock mechanics. Previously, Hein worked for Anglo Platinum and other consultancy firms working for Aquarius Platinum. He has a strong background in geotechnical roles, covering underground and open-cut operations.
